Many know the popular Mexican quesadilla, but the Salvadoran quesadilla is a completely different delight, it is a dessert! This quesadilla is a sweet cake that is sold in bakeries in El Salvador. It can be eaten for breakfast with a coffee or whenever you want to sweeten the moment or at family gatherings.
A Salvadoran quesadilla is made with simple ingredients that we generally have at home, such as flour, cream, sugar and as its name says, cheese.
The Tropical Queso Fresco Salvadoreño and Tropical Crema Salvadoreña will give your quesadilla the perfect flavor and consistency.
Traditionally it is made with rice flour, but all-purpose flour is commonly used, as in this recipe. Topped with sesame seeds, Salvadoran Quesadilla is moist and fluffy and can also be enjoyed by adding a scoop of ice cream or fresh red berries on top. It’s a favorite treat for kids and adults alike.
