Queso de Freír (frying cheese) is very popular on the Keto diet because of its high protein and low carbohydrate content, and it’s also a delicious vegetarian option. While frying is in the name, it doesn’t have to be deep-fried. Pan-seared Queso de Freír is deliciously golden and juicy inside, faster to prepare, and doesn’t require deep frying. Tropical Queso de Freír can be the star of any dish, served alone, with a sauce, over veggies or even as a bread replacement for your favorite sandwich.  

Ingredients:  

  • 2 slices of Tropical Queso de Freír 
  • Cooking spray oil  

Green sauce 

  • Fresh parsley or cilantro  
  • Olive oil 
  • Salt  

Preparation – Queso de Freir 

  1. Cut the cheese into half-inch slices  
  2. Slightly grease a pan with oil or spray  
  3. Place pan over medium-high heat to heat oil. When hot add the cheese and sear for 1-2 minutes on both sides, flipping the slices with a spatula, until nicely browned.  
  4. Transfer the cheese to a paper towel-lined plate  

Preparation – Green sauce:  

  1. Chop and mix all ingredients or add them to a blender or food processor and blend. Drizzle over the cheese.
