Chicken Flautas

Fried tacos (tacos dorados), also known as Flautas when they’re longer, are a popular dish across Mexico and even in the U.S. These flavorful Flautas are made with corn tortillas filled with juicy shredded chicken, rolled and fried until golden and crispu, and topped with lettuce, Tropical Queso Fresco, Tropical Crema Mexicana, and salsa.

  1. In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and cold water and set aside. This paste will be used to close your tacos.
  2. Fill each Corn Tortilla with a handful of shredded chicken and roll it up tightly to make the taco. To seal, apply a small amount of the cornstarch and water paste to the edge of the tortilla before closing. Be sure to place the taco seam-side down to secure well.
  3. Fry the tacos in hot oil. Place them on a paper towel to cool down slightly
  4. Then, plate the desired number of fried flautas and top with shredded lettuce, salsa roja, Crema Mexicana, and crumbled Mexican Queso Fresco to taste.
