Tossed Salad with Grilling Cheese

A tossed salad is a healthy and fresh dish that is also easy to prepare. This recipe uses Tropical Grilling Cheese, which adds a unique flavor and texture that everyone will like. Our Grilling Cheese doesn’t melt when heated, so it will be crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. You can prepare it on a grill, a griddle, or a pan.

A tossed salad is versatile in terms of possible ingredients, but the simpler, the better. This recipe has only five: lettuce, tomato, onion, pepper, and cheese, plus olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dressing. It is ideal during spring and summer as a main dish at home or as a side at gatherings or potlucks.

If you want to add extra ingredients, we recommend cucumber, grated carrot, fennel, radish, or finely shredded red cabbage. To give it even more variety, you can add toasted sunflower seeds, sliced almonds, or pine nuts. Create your own version.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tropical Grilling Cheese (12 oz.)
  • 1 head of romaine lettuce (or your favorite)
  • 1 small package of cherry tomatoes
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 red, orange, or yellow bell pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil

Dressing:

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Wash all the vegetables. Chop the lettuce and place it in a big bowl. Cut the tomatoes, onion, and bell pepper and add them to the bowl with the lettuce.
  2. Cut the cheese into ¾ inch pieces and place them on a hot grill, griddle, or pan for 60 seconds on each side with a little vegetable oil so it doesn’t stick. Place the grilled cheese on top of the salad.
  3. Add the dressing ingredients directly into the bowl and toss well.
