This Fruit Salad with Queso Duro Blando is a refreshing mix of sweet, juicy fruit with a savory twist. Pineapple, honeydew, and mango are soaked in fresh orange juice, then topped with Queso Duro Blando, a dry, firm, easy-to-crumble cheese that adds the perfect touch of saltiness. Finished with mint and a hint of cayenne, it’s bright, tropical, and full of contrasting flavors that light up any gathering.

This Fruit Salad with Duro Blando Cheese is inspired by Central American flavors, where sweet fruit and salty cheeses are often paired together. For an extra-festive presentation, you can serve the fruit salad inside a carved pineapple. It looks beautiful and makes a great appetizer centerpiece for summer parties.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe pineapple, peeled, cored, and cut into cubes
  • 1 honeydew melon, peeled, seeded, and cut into cubes
  • 2 mangos, peeled, seeded, and cut into cubes
  • 2 cups fresh orange juice
  • 1 cup grated Tropical Queso Duro Blando
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped mint
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper

Preparation

  1. In a large bowl, combine the pineapple, honeydew, mango, and orange juice. Mix gently.
  2. Refrigerate until well chilled.
  3. To serve, divide the fruit mixture into small bowls.
  4. Sprinkle each portion with Queso Duro Blando, mint, and a light pinch of cayenne.

Note: Save the pineapple shell if you’d like to use it as a serving bowl.
