Guatemalan Mixtas are basically Guatemalan-style hot dogs, but instead of a bun, the sausage is wrapped in one or more warm corn tortillas with guacamole, Tropical Queso Fresco Centroamericano, cabbage, onion, mustard, and red salsa. They’re sold in street carts across Guatemala and are popular at fairs, parks, and casual gatherings, but also enjoyed as a simple home snack. The use of tortilla instead of a bun, plus avocado and cabbage, gives them that Guatemalan flair.
