Queso de Papa Blanco

White Longhorn Style Cheddar Cheese

Cheeses Natural Cheeses The Flavor of America (USA) The Flavor of the Caribbean

Tropical Queso de Papa Blanco is a mild cheddar-style cheese with a longhorn shape. Legend has it that this cheese was served and enjoyed by the Pope when he visited Puerto Rico on one occasion, thus receiving the name Queso de Papa, “Pope’s Cheese.”

Tropical has traditional yellow Queso de Papa and white (blanco) Queso de Papa. They both have a very similar flavor and texture, but the color can make a difference in the dish you are preparing.

Tropical Queso de Papa melts deliciously, so it is a great option as a filling for vegetables, croquetas, sorullitos (cornmeal fritters) and tortitas de papa con queso (potato and cheese pancake), quesadillas or on top of baked dishes. You can also enjoy it with your favorite crackers, or include it in your Charcuterie boards. Get inspired by this fun Halloween Charcuterie board idea and this one for the Holidays.
